1.Cyberbullying is verbal harassment that occurs through electronic communication.(1)
2.Cyberbullying can take multiple forms. Here are a few:
• A threatening e-mail
• Nasty instant messaging session
• Repeated notes sent to the cell phone
• A website set up to mock others
•“Borrowing” someone’s screen name and pretending to be them while posting a message.
• Forwarding supposedly private messages, pictures, or video to others.(3)

1.What is Cyberbullying?
  • Sending mean, vulgar, or threatening messages or images
  • Posting sensitive, private information about another person
  • Pretending to be someone else in order to make that person look bad
  • Intentionally excluding someone from an online group(3)
2.Warning signs that someone you know may be the victim of cyberbullying include the following:
  • Avoiding the computer, cell phone, and other technological devices or appearing stressed when receiving an e-mail, instant message, or text.
  • Withdrawing from family and friends, or acting reluctant to attend school and social events.
  • Avoiding conversations about computer use.
  • Displaying numerous negative feelings, including sadness, anger, frustration, reduced tolerance and worry.
  • Grades beginning to decline.
  • Lack of eating or sleeping.(4)

1.The signs that a child is being cyberbullied are different sometimes, but a few things to look for are:
  • signs of emotional distress during or after using the Internet or the phone
  • being very protective or secretive of their digital life
  • withdrawal from friends and activities
  • avoidance of school or group gatherings
  • slipping grades and "acting out" in anger at home
  • changes in mood, behavior, sleep, or appetite(4)

1.David Knight was teased, punched, taunted for years. But the final blow was the humiliation he faced every time he signed in to the internet, someone had set up a website just for the purpose of making fun of David Knight.(case study)
2.The website was active for several months until one of Davids classmates told him about it, when he went to this website he found a page that was just hateful comments directed towards David and his family, David and his family then contacted yahoo and asked them to delete the website, nothing happened.(case study)
3.David's mom says she contacted yahoo again after a couple of weeks and still no result, this continued multiple times. Yahoo eventually agreed to take down the website after seven months of phone calls,messaging,and even resulted in threatening legal action.(case study)
